Obituary
Carolyn Joyce Merriman, 91, of New
Holland, passed away March 17, 2021 at her home
surrounded by her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry
& Bennett Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will
be held at a later date.
“Carol” was born June 16, 1929 in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Cory and Violet
(Reese). She married Edward F. “Jake” Merriman on
January 1, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 3,
1998. Jake and Carol ran Marvel Shows, Carnival
Business for many years. She enjoyed horticulture,
needlepoint and crochet, writing, and playing cards.
She loved her family deeply.

Survivors include her son Tim (Kathy) Merriman; eight
grandchildren: Candy, Miranda, Brandon, Kahlan, TJ, Jared, Gabriel, and Colby;
and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons David Merriman and Earl
Merriman, grandsons James Merriman and Adrian Merriman, and her sister “Peggy.”
