Local teens were granted awards at the recent
culmination of the Tomahawk Conference season for scholastic
bowl.
This year’s Tomahawk tournament was held virtually each week.
Throughout the season, Athens, Delavan, Greenview,
Hartsburg-Emden, Illini Bluffs, Illini Central, Midwest Central,
and Mt Pulaski played each other two times each. The school with
the best record in the conference wins the conference title, and
the top 5 individual scorers overall are named to the
All-Conference Team.
This year, the winning school, with a conference record of 14-0
is Athens.
The students named to the All-Conference team are:
Chris Powell of Athens with 48,
Paul Krumpe of Illini Bluffs with 42,
Alana Smith of Illini Central with 37,
William Wisniewski of Hartsburg-Emden with 35,
Joanna Pincock of Illini Bluffs with 33.
