According to the plan, on March 22nd, Higher
education staff, government workers, and media are now eligible to
receive the vaccine. On March 29th, food and beverage workers,
construction trade workers, and religious leaders will become
eligible to receive the vaccine. Beginning April 12, the State opens
up vaccine eligibility to any resident who meets the age requirement
			of age 16 and up.
Phase 1A, 1B, and 1B+ had previously included individuals in
healthcare, over the age of 65, frontline essential workers, and
those between the age of 16 and 65 with preexisting conditions.
Logan County Department of Public Health (LCDPH) urges individuals
in those groups who have not been vaccinated, to contact their
department to schedule an appointment. Details of who is currently
eligible can be found on the State of Illinois Coronavirus Response
			website:

			https://coronavirus.
 illinois.gov/s/vaccination-plan-overview.

LCDPH is currently administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine which,
according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has
demonstrated a 94.1% effectiveness rate in clinical trials. The FDA
has approved the Moderna vaccine for individuals over the age of 18.
To urgently support the States goal for herd immunity, LCDPH is
planning numerous vaccine clinics in the month of April to provide
protection to individuals who live in Logan and neighboring
			counties.
