The Railsplitters scored in every inning of the game, pounding out 10 hits on the afternoon.

In the first inning, Lincoln’s leadoff hitter, Dylan Singleton, doubled to start the game. Following a walk to Keagan Ferguson, Tanner Strampp doubled to score the two runners. Lincoln was on top early 2-0.

Plains took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first inning after a three-run homer by Brady Marshall off Lincoln starter Tanner Strampp.

In the top of the second inning, Singleton scored on a sacrifice fly by Trent Koehler. Ferguson doubled and eventually came around to score on an error to give Lincoln a 4-3 edge.

The Cardinals tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the second inning.

In the bottom half of the third inning, the Cardinals regained a 6-5 lead on three hits.

The Railsplitters put up six runs in the top of the fourth inning and managed to do so with just three hits. In an inning filled with errors, walks, a hit batter and wild pitches, the Railsplitters took advantage and ran their way out to an 11-6 lead.

In the fifth inning the Railsplitters added a run to take a 12-6 lead. The first two batters in the inning, Ferguson and Strampp were hit by pitches. Lucas Konczyk then drew a walk to load the bases. The fourth batter in the inning, Andrew Graue, was hit by a pitch, allowing Ferguson to score. The Cardinals then got a pop out and two ground balls to end the inning without further damage.
