Obituary
Jerry Leigh Pickett, 72, passed away
at 5:12 p.m. on April 26, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Jerry was born on September 22, 1948 in Lincoln, son
of James and Dorothy (Keim) Pickett. He married
Susan Madigan and later married Jan BeVard on
January 22, 1993 in Lincoln. She survives him.
Also surviving is his son: Aaron Pickett of Morton,
adopted and raised Lilly and Leighton and also has
eleven other grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two
stepchildren: Betsy and Clint Clark.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United
States Army during Vietnam. He was a Communication
Engineer for the State of Illinois. He retired from
GTE after 25 years as Regional Supervisor. |
Jerry was the President of Mount
Pulaski’s Duck Unlimited, was a Boy Scout Leader,
Little Legion Baseball Coach, and he managed Crow
Creek Gun Club in Lacon for 38 years.
Cremation rites are entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
