Music Performance at Lincoln Heritage Museum Patio
Lincoln College Contemporary Jazz Students Set to Perform May 6

 

[May 05, 2021]   Members of the Lincoln College Contemporary Jazz Studies (CJZS) program will perform Thursday, May 6, at Lincoln Heritage Museum on the Lincoln College campus. The outdoor performance on the east patio begins at 6:00 p.m.

The performance features original songs from the next Lincoln College student-written musical film, “Grey Tin County,” set to air on the LC-CJZS YouTube channel in June 2021 (airdate TBD).

“We are incredibly grateful that our performers and composers are permitted to provide live entertainment again to the Lincoln community. It’s a great opportunity for students to gain experience performing before a live audience and to partner with the Lincoln Heritage Museum,” said Denise La Grassa, Lead Faculty for the CJZS program at Lincoln College.

Attendees are encouraged to take a free tour of the first floor of Lincoln Heritage Museum prior to the concert. Lincoln Heritage Museum is currently featuring 112 letters and photographs depicting the Civil War story of the John and Esther Hawes family from Eminence Township in Logan County near Atlanta, Illinois.

 Letters written by brothers Henry and George Hawes and half-brother James Ewing - all three soldiers in battle - to parents John and Esther are on display. The letters date from 1861 through 1865.

The live musical event will be on the east patio of Lincoln Heritage Museum at 1115 Nicholson Road in Lincoln. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the Johnston Center for Performing Arts.
