The Lady Railers hosted Normal West Wednesday
on the softball diamond and the Wildcats handed Lincoln an 8-1
loss.
Lincoln scored a run in the first inning after Emily Paulus led
off the game with a double and took third on a sacrifice bunt by
Abbie Glenn. Paulus would score on a passed ball and the Lady
Railers were on top 1-0.
Normal West tied the game in the fourth inning and took a 3-1
lead in the fifth inning.
The Wildcats plated four runs in the sixth inning and added one
more in the seventh inning to take the 8-1 win over the Lady
Railers.
Cara Farnam suffered the loss for Lincoln. She gave up eight
hits and eight runs in seven innings. Farnam struck out four
batters.
Lincoln had two hits off Normal West pitching.
Emily Paulus and Abbie Glenn each doubled for the Lady Railers.
Lincoln falls to 4-5 on the season.
Lincoln will play at Tri-City/Sangamon Valley today at 4:30 p.m.
