CAPCIL fundraiser Cheeseburger in Paradise seeking volunteers and raffle donations

[May 06, 2021]   LINCOLN - Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois’ (CAPCIL) annual fundraiser Cheeseburger in Paradise, will be held on June 5th, 2021 at the Lincoln Banquet Center in Lincoln.

This year’s event will look a little different due to COVID guidelines and restrictions but will include options for in-person, carry out and virtual participation. Currently, table sponsorships to attend the in-person event are sold out, however carry out meal tickets are available for purchase through May 20th.

Two carry out meal ticket options are available:

- Pineapple Ticket includes carry out meal and chance to win an exclusive raffle item.

- Flamingo Ticket includes carry out meal, chance to win an exclusive raffle item and souvenir cup.

CAPCIL is also currently seeking auction items for their fundraiser. They are looking for items for the live auction as well as the Big Kahuna Raffle and silent auction. In year’s past, attendees left with a Yeti Cooler, Designer Handbag, custom built patio sets, grill package, gift certificates and a myriad of other amazing items. Donors receive social media spotlights and print promotion at the event. This year, the Silent Auction will be hosted virtually starting May 27th and ending June 4th.

There are many volunteer opportunities available including: set up, raffle ticket sales, greeters, food servers, cup sales, clean up, and so much more. Cheeseburger in Paradise is the biggest event hosted by CAPCIL every year. Historically, the agency is able to generate over $25,000 during this event to help reduce poverty in our community.

Sadly, the 2020 event was cancelled because of the pandemic and CAPCIL is thankful to be able to host this year’s event. This is the opportunity to help people out of poverty into a life of lasting independence – one cheeseburger at a time. CAPCIL appreciates the support the community has given and is looking forward to hosting another memorable event.
