Olympia defeats Lincoln 12-2

The Olympia Spartans played at Lincoln on Friday afternoon
and handed the Lady Railers a 12-2 loss.
Danika Frazier got the win for the Spartans. She worked seven
innings in the circle, allowing just two runs on six hits and
striking out nine batters.
The Lady Railers scored their two runs in the bottom of the first
inning. Emily Paulus started the game by drawing a leadoff walk.
Abbie Glenn reached base on a fielder’s choice, with Paulus out at
second. Cara Farnam doubled to right field to move Glenn to third.
Glenn scored the first run of the game on a passed ball. After Ryen
Stoltzenburg reached on an error, Mya Kirgan walked to load the
bases. Farnam would score from third on another passed ball and the
Lady Railers were ahead early 2-0. Danika Frazier struck out the
next two Lady Railers and ended the inning.
The score remained 2-0 until the top of the third inning when the
Spartans bats came alive. After a strikeout to start the inning, the
Spartans slugged a double and a single to get things going. After a
hit by pitch and an error, the Spartans were on the board with their
first run of the game. A fielder’s choice and an error would score
two more runs to put the Spartans on top 3-2.
The Spartans added a run in the fourth inning on an RBI double by
Chloe Scroggins.
The Spartans broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring five
runs with the help of the Lady Railers pitching. Three walks loaded
the bases for Olympia. With two outs, an error scored two runs. The
Spartans plated three more runs on RBI singles. The Spartans led
9-2.

Three more runs in the top of the
seventh inning put the game away for Olympia.
The Spartans won the game 12-2 over Lincoln.
Cara Farnam suffered the loss for Lincoln. Farnam tossed seven
complete innings and allowed 11 hits and 12 runs. Only four of the
runs were earned. Farnam struck out three batters and walked three.
The Lady Railers had six hits versus Olympia. Cara Farnam led the
way with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Abbie Glenn, Emily
Paulus and Ryen Stoltzenburg each had hits for Lincoln.
The Spartans were led by Chloe Scroggins, who went 3-for-4 at the
plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. Casey Wissmiller was
2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Kat Springer was 2-for-4
with two runs scored and an RBI. Danika Frazier was 2-for-4.
Lincoln’s record falls to 4-7 on the season.
