The fundraiser held
from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Lincoln American Legion was
a huge success.
If Sunday morning were a baseball game, the umpire would have needed
to call a foul. The weather was cold and rainy with strong winds
gusting to 30 miles per hour. Whether it was the weather or the draw
of lots of good food and no work, attendance was great all morning.
Families treating mom and grandma kept rolling in the door. Laughter
and chatter filled the hall.
As quick as volunteers cleared tables a new crowd filled the seats,
and line was never too long. All stations from cashiers to servers
and behind the scenes cooks were in full operation with floaters
filling in when and where needed so hungry families could get their
food and then sit and visit.
The fundraiser was hosted by American Legion Post 263 Baseball
Program and Humane Society of Logan County.
