As our society gradually emerges from over a year of
pandemic shutdowns and stay-at-home social isolation, on Saturday,
May 8, 2021 the annual right-of-passage Prom Grand March was
more-than-ever appreciated and a welcomed event. Not even the threat
of a rainstorm could thwart the happy celebration.
The event was set to begin at 5 p.m. but the Mount Pulaski Downtown
Historic Square was buzzing at 4:20 p.m. and everyone was there
already. Sprinkles had started and stopped several times.
Coordinators determined it was best to start the march early as the
beautifully attired young men and women were all present. And the
parade began.

historic Mount Pulaski Courthouse stairway decorated with flower
arrangements.
Later the prom goers headed for Poe's on the Hill, Springfield for a
night of dinner and dancing... and life resumes.
