Lincoln scored first in the bottom of the second inning when
Riley Tungate hit an RBI single to left field. Cassie Bridge
scored on Tungate’s hit and Lincoln was up 1-0.

Farnam started the bottom of the third inning with a triple for
Lincoln. Mya Kirgan singled to left to drive home Farnam. The
Lady Railers then loaded the bases as Malena Kirgan reached base
on a hit by pitch, Bridge reached on an error and Taryn
Stoltzenburg reached base on a fielder’s choice. Tungate stepped
in the batter’s box and this at-bat she crushed the ball to
right field. With her speed, it was not just an inside-the-park
home run, but a grand slam, as the bases cleared. Lincoln was on
top 6-0 as the third inning came to a close.
In the fourth inning, the Lady Railers added another run on an
RBI double by Mya Kirgan.
"Seniors Alyvia Gannon, Emily Paulus
and Mya Kirgan were honored before the game for their dedication
to the Lady Railers softball program." The Cardinals finally scored a run in the top of the fifth
inning.
Making the game interesting, the Cardinals scored two more runs
in the top of the sixth inning and the Lincoln lead was cut to
7-3.
Abbie Glenn hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning,
scoring Emily Paulus.
Lincoln held on to win 8-3 over the Cardinals.
The Lady Railers had 10 hits versus the Cardinals.
Riley Tungate was 2-for-2 with five RBIs and a run scored. Mya
Kirgan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Cassie Bridge was 2-for-3 with
two runs scored. Cara Farnam was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Abbie Glenn was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Lady Railers improved to 9-12 on the season.
