Obituary
Claude Elwood Van Fossan, 81, passed
away at his home in, Lincoln. on May 20, 2021.
Claude was born on August 29, 1939 at his home in
Elkhart, son of George Elwood and Virgie Viola
(Rhodes) Van Fossan. Claude married Carla S.
Mallinson on July 3, 1981 in Lincoln.
Surviving Claude is his children: Jodee (Mark)
Pedigo of Canton, Lisa (Jeff) Bonnett of Sanibel,
FL, Terri (Dirk) Heinhorst of Florida, Shane Van
Fossan of Lincoln and Amanda (Jason) Rankin;
siblings: Helen Hoagland, Rose Musick, Sharon (Jim)
Follis, Margaret Edwards, and Jean (Harold) Boyer
all of Lincoln, twelve grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, four
sisters: Freda White, Gladys Elkins, Laura Molt, and
Ethel Overbey, brother: George Van Fossan, and one
infant brother: Loren Van Fossan.

Claude proudly served his country in
the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge #210, Lincoln York Rite
Bodies Lincoln Chapter # 147, Lincoln Council # 83,
and Constantin Commandery # 51.
Services for Claude will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday,
May 26, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home
in Lincoln, with Ron Otto officiating. Visitation
will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021
also at the funeral home. Burial at Zion Cemetery
will follow the service where full military rites
will be accorded by the American Legion Post # 263.
Masonic services for Claude will be 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday May 25, 2021 after the visitation.
Memorials may be made in Claude’s name to Emma
Welp’s DIPG Fight, St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, or Logan County Fair Association.
