Organists Paula Romanaux from Springfield and
Marcy Brooks from Greeneville Tennessee, as well as the “Wild
Columbine” group from Springfield will bring music and song.
Wild Columbine has been working together since
2016 and plays traditional music of the English-speaking
world--England, Ireland, Scotland, America--both secular and
non-secular, focusing on instrumental dance music composed by
John Playford, J.S. Bach, O'Carrolan, Stephen Collins Foster,
and other 17th, 18th, and 19th century composers. The members
and their instruments are Sally McDaniel Smith, Flute, whistles,
autoharp; Megan Turner Thornberry, violins, drum; Emily Wheeler,
mandolin, guitar; William Furry, guitar, mandolin, concertina,
harmonium. Bodhran. The entire group sings as well, so plan on a
service filled to the brim with music and song, as we help
launch the Christmas Season for 2021.
Starting Thursday November 4, please call 217-947-2238 between 8
a.m. and 7 p.m. to make your reservation. When you get the
recorded message, be prepared to leave your name, the number in
your party, the service time you desire and your phone number.
We will call you back to confirm. Then you can send a check for
the tickets and membership if desired all on one check made
payable to the Elkhart Historical Society PO Box 255 Elkhart, IL

These services fill quickly, and we will also take a short waitlist for each
service. If after getting your tickets, you can’t use them, please call the same
number and we will attempt to fill your seat.
The covid guidelines will be followed, and at this time we request that all
attendees bring masks. tissues and a few cough drops to keep throat clearing and
an occasional cough to a minimum.
