Delaney Howard named October Senior
of the Month at Mount Pulaski High School

Delaney Howard of Mount Pulaski, daughter of Lisa Howard and Heath
Howard, has been named October-Senior-of-the-month at Mount Pulaski
High School. She was selected for this honor based on the criteria
of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
During her time at MPHS, Delaney has been involved in
numerous extra-curricular activities. For four years she has been a
member of Cheerleading, Track, Art Club, Spanish Club, and Student
Council, serving three years as a class officer and one year as Vice
President.

She
participated in Science Olympiad for three years, Academic Challenge
for two years, and one year in Drama Club.
Delaney has earned Spanish student of the year and the Rising Star
award in Cheerleading. She set the school record for the 200m dash
and has the second highest school record for the 100m dash. She also
earned second place in Anatomy in Science Olympiad.

Outside of school Delaney works at Starbucks 20+ hours per week. She
has also accumulated 188 community service hours helping with
Compass4Kids car show, canned food drives, making cards for the
residents at Vonderlieth, and helping with Christmas on Vinegar
Hill.
Delaney plans to attend Missouri State University and major in
Clinical Lab Science and then attend medical school.
The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Conaway Handyman
Service and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc.
Students are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored
by Illinois National Bank.
