Terry scored twice and added an assist to extend his point-streak to
an NHL-leading 13 games as the Anaheim Ducks defeated the host
Seattle Kraken 7-4 on Thursday night.
Mason McTavish, Josh Mahura, Kevin Shattenkirk, Hampus Lindholm and
Sam Carrick also scored for the Ducks, who won their sixth contest
in a row and extended their point streak to eight games (6-0-2).
Goaltender John Gibson made 21 saves.
Jared McCann scored twice for Seattle after being out since Oct. 28
while in the league's COVID-19 protocol. Jaden Schwartz and Jordan
Eberle also tallied for the expansion Kraken, who have lost five of
their past six games. Goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped 29 of 34
shots.
The Ducks never trailed. Leading 5-4, Carrick scored into an empty
net at 17:21 of the third period and Terry added an empty-netter at
19:39 for his team-leading 11th goal of the season, which is tied
with Washington's Alex Ovechkin for second in the league, one behind
Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl.
McTavish gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 4:42
of the first period.
It remained that way until Terry scored 3:10 into the second, using
Seattle defenseman Mark Giordano as a screen and wiring a wrist shot
from the top of the right faceoff circle past Grubauer.
