If Goff, who has an oblique injury, can't go, Tim Boyle would
make his first career start under center.
Goff got hurt during last Sunday in Detroit's 16-16 tie against
the Pittsburgh Steelers. He missed practice for three straight
days, including Friday.
Coach Dan Campbell told reporters Friday the team is prepared to
start Boyle, who saw action in eight games last season for the
Green Bay Packers as Aaron Rodgers' back-up but did not attempt
a pass.
Boyle completed 3 of 4 passes for 15 yards in 2019.
"Let me say this about Tim Boyle, he lacks zero confidence, I
can tell you that," Campbell said. "If he's our guy and see
where the weather takes us, see where he takes us, but I know
this, we have to be smart with him and let him work into a
rhythm."
Detroit (0-8-1) is the last NFL team still in search of its
first win of the season.
