Mount Pulaski defeats Springfield Calvary 61-48

[November 27, 2021] - The Hilltoppers will play for the tournament championship tonight at 8:00 p.m. versus Warrensburg-Latham

The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers improved to 3-0 in the Bill Rucks Varsity Boys Tournament on Friday night with a 61-48 win over Springfield Calvary.

Mount Pulaski led the game 13-11 after the first quarter and managed to hang on to a 25-23 lead as halftime got underway. Lane Murphy poured in 13 points in the third quarter to guide Mount Pulaski to a 43-35 lead. The Hilltoppers had a balanced scoring attack in the fourth quarter that earned them the 61-48 win.

Lane Murphy led all scorers with 24 points. Cullen Tyson scored in every quarter for the Hilltoppers and finished with 16 points.

Mount Pulaski will play Warrensburg-Latham tonight at 8 p.m. for the tournament championship.
