On Sunday evening, the city of Atlanta hosted its first-ever Christmas Parade at dusk. A nice crowd of people gathered on the main drag through town to watch the inaugural event. The parade was just one part of a weekend of activities heralding the Christmas season in the Atlanta community.

The 2021 Lincoln Christmas Parade Grand Marshals are going to be Judy Busby and Bill Gossett. Busby and Gossett were nominated by a member of the Logan County Tourism Bureau Board of Directors and approved by unanimous vote.

The pair will be leading the parade in a vintage convertible on Thursday evening. The parade beings at 6:30 p.m. The route will be from Wyatt Avenue to Kickapoo, right on Pulaski, left on McLean, and left on Broadway. The parade will disband at the intersection of Broadway and Chicago Streets, with Santa bringing up the rear and making his annual stop at the Lincoln Depot Visitors Center to visit with children.

During Small Business Saturday this past weekend in Lincoln, one activity was geared just for the little ones who were out and about. The Lincoln Arts Institute hosted a storytime with Mrs. Claus, followed by an optional craft or art project.

Mrs. Claus read to the children a book about Santa's long search for the perfect creatures to pull his sleigh full of toys to good little girls and boys.
