Carole (Metz) Knipp, 77, of Bloomington, formerly of Lincoln passed
away on Saturday morning, November 13, 2021 at Luther Oaks Senior
Living in Bloomington.

Service:
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday,
November 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Vrooman Mansion in
Bloomington.
Obituary
Carole (Metz) Knipp, 77, of
Bloomington, formerly of Lincoln passed away on
Saturday morning, November 13, 2021 at Luther Oaks
Senior Living in Bloomington.
She was a retired elementary school teacher,
employed at various Unit 5 District schools in
Normal for over 40 years. She was a volunteer in
numerous organizations, including the
Hartsburg-Emden Alumni Association, in which she was
heavily involved for many years, serving as
corresponding secretary and in other capacities.
She also actively volunteered at the
McLean County Museum of History. She regularly
gathered with her 1962 graduation classmates, and
enjoyed every minute of it.
Carole was born in Lincoln on August 20, 1944, the
daughter of Robert E. and Frances Metz. She attended
Hartsburg-Emden schools and graduated from Illinois
State University in Bloomington.
She is survived by sons Kevin (Gwen) Knipp,
Bloomington and Kory (Amanda) Knipp in Nashville,
Tennessee; brothers Robert S. (Bob) Metz of rural
Lincoln, Gary, Tucson, Arizona, and sister Susan
Coe, Round Rock, Texas, an Aunt Barbara Radcliffe of
Lincoln; four Grandchildren; and numerous cousins
and nephews residing in Central Illinois.
Cremation rights have been accorded. A Celebration
of Life will be held on Sunday, November 28 from 1
to 3 p.m. at Vrooman Mansion in Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in
Carole's name to the McLean County Museum of
History, 200 North Main Street, Bloomington, IL
61701.
