[October 19, 2021]  LINCOLN - Dean Colby, 57, of Lincoln, passed away on October 17, 2021, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Visitation:  9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service:  11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Obituary

Dean Colby, 57, of Lincoln, passed away on October 17, 2021, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Dean was born on November 6, 1963 in Normal, the son of Victor and Janet (Organ) Colby. Dean married Kenda Edwards on August 31, 1984 in Normal. She survives in Lincoln.

Dean is also survived by his children, Brittany (Justin) Matherly and Brandon (Michelle) Colby; and his four grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Jaylen and Colbie.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Dean was an avid baseball fan especially his beloved Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed spending time going to auctions and was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Dean was also a frequent contest winner with the 96.3 radio station.

Services for Dean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the services at Union Cemetery in Waynesville.

Memorials may be made in Dean’s name to Lincoln Christian Church or The American Diabetes Association.
