[October 20, 2021]  ATLANTA - Kenneth R. Martin, 70, of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 7:55 a.m. at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta

Service: Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Atlanta Christian Church

Obituary

Kenneth R. Martin, 70, of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 7:55 a.m. at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Visitation for Kenny will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Funeral services for Kenny will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Atlanta Christian Church. Mr. Maurice Stribling will officiate. Burial will follow at Atlanta Cemetery.

CDC recommendations regarding masks and social distancing will be followed.

Kenneth Ray Martin was born September 12, 1951 in Lincoln, the son of George William and Norma Huebner Martin, Sr. He was united in marriage to Vicki Compton on October 23, 1971. She survives.

Kenny is survived by two daughters: Kelly (Jason Haseley) Leimbach and Katie (Ryan) Bunner; one daughter-in-law: Nikki Martin; six grandchildren: David Jacob and Kendall Leimbach; Jackson and Abigail Martin; and Andrew and Rylee Bunner.

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by one son: Clinton A. Martin; one brother: George William Martin, Jr.; and his parents.

Kenny was an independent financial advisor and insurance agent, and worked for Hoblit Seed Company for 30 years. A long-time public servant, Kenny held the position of City Clerk for the city of Atlanta for 45 years.

Kenny was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and raccoon hunting and playing Rummikub.

Memorials may be made to Atlanta Rescue Squad or Atlanta Fire Department.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
