Evgenii Dadonov scored 1:59 into overtime as the Vegas Golden
Knights rallied and earned their second win in two nights, 3-2 over
the host Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.
Dadonov took a pass from Nicolas Roy, who had stolen the puck from
John Klingberg along the back boards, at the bottom of the right
circle and then spun around and fired a wrist shot past Anton
Khudobin's blocker side for the game-winner. It was his second goal
of the season.
Vegas had forced the extra period on Jonathan Marchessault's goal
with 1:02 left in regulation after pulling goalie Laurent Brossoit.
Shea Theodore had a goal and an assist while Brossoit, making his
first start with the Golden Knights, finished with 32 saves.
Alexander Radulov and Luke Glendening scored goals for Dallas while
Khudobin stopped 18 of 21 shots.
Dallas jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 2:20 mark of the first period
on Glendening's second goal of the season. Miro Heiskanen set up the
score with a shot from inside the blue line that first deflected off
Glendening's stick in the slot and then off the skate of Golden
Knights defenseman Dylan Coghlan in front of the crease before going
past Brossoit.
Vegas, which didn't arrive in Dallas until about four hours before
the opening faceoff because of travel issues departing Denver
following a 3-1 victory over Colorado on Tuesday night, tied it just
1:27 later. Theodore intercepted Heiskanen's outlet pass and fired a
wrist shot through traffic from the high slot that deflected in off
the skate of Stars defenseman Esa Lindell.

A few minutes after Dallas left winger Roope Hintz
fired a shot off the crossbar, the Stars regained the lead midway
through the second period when Radulov deflected Jani Hakanpaa's
shot from the right point past Brossoit for his first goal of the
season.
Brossoit kept it a one-goal game early in the third period when he
stopped Radulov on a clean breakaway with a left shoulder save.
Vegas pulled Brossoit for an extra skater with 2:15 to go, and
Marchessault tied it a minute later when he one-timed Theodore's
pass from the left circle inside the near post for his second goal
of the season.
