[October 29, 2021]  MOUNT PULASKI - Clarence T. Mardis “Baby Huey,” 77, of Mount Pulaski passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Service:  11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Obituary

Clarence T. Mardis “Baby Huey,” 77, of Mount Pulaski passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

Clarence was born on October 8, 1944 in Bloomington, the son of Cecil and Dorothy (Goetsch) Mardis. He married Sheila Rae Wilham on February 14, 1988 in Shelbyville, MO. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2005.

Clarence is survived by his step-son, Jerod Fults of Lincoln; step-granddaughter, Kat Long of Decatur, his nephew, J.C. (Joyce) Coogan of Mount Pulaski, niece Teena (Doug) Lowery of Mount Pulaski, his brother-in-law Jim Boy Coogan, great-nieces and nephew, Cady Lowery of Colorado Springs, CO; Michael Lowery of Mount Pulaski; and Claire Coogan of Mount Pulaski.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Judy Coogan; and his great-nephew, Caleb Coogan.

Clarence worked as a Local 51 Union employee for 41 years with L.E. Myers Company. Clarence was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department.

Services for Clarence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service (9:00-11:00am) also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski.

Memorial donations may be made in Clarence’s name to The Caleb Coogan Memorial Fund.
