Rivers most recently played 15 regular-season games and 10
playoff games for Denver after joining the team in April. He
originally signed a 10-day contract before re-upping with the
Nuggets for the remainder of the season.
The son of Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers, the 6-foot-4
combo guard is on his sixth NBA franchise since the then-New
Orleans Hornets made him the 10th overall selection in the 2012
draft. He has also suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers,
Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks.
Rivers started last season with the Knicks but saw action in
just 21 games before being dealt in March as part of a
three-team trade. He was shipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder
and was waived three days later.
In 588 career NBA games (156 starts), Rivers has averaged 9.1
points, 2.3 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game.
With Denver last season, he averaged 8.7 points in the regular
season while shooting 37.5 percent from 3-point range. In the
postseason, those numbers improved to 9.2 points and 41.3
percent from 3-point range.
