Mount Pulaski Bruins Baseball Team crowned 2021 Logan County Champions

[September 09, 2021]   Mount Pulaski defeated Chester-East Lincoln 10-0 on Saturday morning in the 2021 Logan County Baseball Tournament. Aaron Kuznik and Luke Martin combined to strike out 11 Panthers in the game. Kuznik earned the win. At the plate, Tyler Cross was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Mount Pulaski. Eric Cooper was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Luke Martin was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Martin hit a two-run home run to left field in the second inning for the Bruins. Franklin Wade, Aaron Volle and Tucker Fitzpatrick also had hits for Mount Pulaski.

Mount Pulaski advanced to the championship game versus Carroll Catholic on Saturday afternoon. The Bruins defeated the Crusaders 12-0 for the championship with Eric Cooper tossing a no-hitter for Mount Pulaski. Cooper struck out 10 batters and walked just one, while throwing 48 pitches over four innings of work. Franklin Wade was 2-for 2 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Bruins. Tyler Cross was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Luke Martin was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Martin hit a two-run home run to center field in the first inning for Mount Pulaski. Clay Leonard also had a hit for the Bruins.
