Obituary
John Jones, 62, passed away just six
days after his beloved wife Rhonda on Wednesday,
September 1, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center
in Peoria.
John was born on March 28, 1959 in Peoria, the son
of John Logan Jones and Patsy Knowles-Vannoy. He
married Rhonda K. Shull on March 31, 1979 in
Lincoln.
John is survived by his children, Devin (Bailey
Osborne) Jones of Chestnut, Damin (Stephanie) Jones
of Pleasant Plains, and Daneil (Jerry Rude) Jones of
Lincoln; his grandchildren, Kaylynn Eskew, Kameron
Jones, Jaxon Jones, and Kayden Kirk; his brother,
James “Newt” (Charlotte) Jones and his sister,
Christy Jones-Huffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Rhonda; and his brother, Bob.

Anyone who knew John would tell you
that he was an extremely hard-working man. When he
wasn’t working, he could be found enjoying the
outdoors either hunting or fishing. He also had a
passion for dirt track racing. But above all else,
he loved his family especially his grandchildren.
Services for John will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with Rev. David Johnson officiating, where face mask
and social distancing will be enacted. Visitation
will take place two hours prior to the service,
(9:00-11:00 a.m.). Burial at Laenna Cemetery in
Chestnut will follow the service.
Memorials may be made in John’s name to the Humane
Society of Logan County.
