Obituary
Kristen Renee Houghton, 25, of
Lincoln, passed away at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital in Lincoln, on September 1, 2021.
Kristen was born on October 3, 1995, in Lincoln, the
daughter of Robert Buffington and Stephanie
Drummond. She married Timothy Houghton in July of
2018. He survives in Lincoln.
Kristen is also survived by her children, Leah
Houghton, Jaxon Shawgo, and Cambria Houghton; her
father, Robert (Rachelle Riggs) Buffington; her
mother, Stephanie (Doug Ragland) Drummond-Murphy;
her siblings, Erik Drummond, Johnathan (Jayna Baker)
Murphy, Annastaja Buffington, Alyssa Buffington,
Greyson Fisher, Raquelle (Demonte Ellis) Hyde, Emily
Hyde, Elizabeth (Brian) Mosher, Randi Buse, and
Daniel Buffington; her mother-in-law, Tonya
Houghton; her sister-in-law, Andrea Houghton; her
brother-in-law, Steven Houghton; her grandparents,
Risa and David Riggs; and her numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Kristen was preceded in death by her maternal
grandparents, Larry and Peggy Drummond; and her
paternal grandmother, Sandra Buffington.

To say Kristen loved her family would
be an understatement; her entire life was dedicated
to her family especially her children. She and the
love of her life Tim fought so hard to bring their
beautiful baby, Cambria into this world. Her
dedication to her family was outreaching, often
scheduling family game nights that went into the
morning hours. Kristen enjoyed spending time going
to concerts and playing videos games. She had an
inherent artistic ability in all aspects of her
life, she would often be found filling in pages of
her sketchbooks. Kristen loved all things Halloween;
The Nightmare before Christmas was without a doubt
her favorite movie.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00-6:30pm
on Friday, September 10, 2021, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. A
celebration of Kristen’s life will begin at 6:30pm
also at the funeral home. A graveside service will
be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 11, 2021,
at Harmony Cemetery in Beason.
Memorial donations may be made in Kristen’s name to
her family in the care of her mother Stephanie
Drummond-Murphy.
