							As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

            | To the editor: This is a plea
to the people of Logan County. Get vaccinated. Wear your mask when
you are out and about. Recently our neighboring Douglas County
experienced an explosion of COVID-19 cases because citizens there
refused to socially distance and wear masks.
I wonder how many of us know that historians credit the success of
the American Revolution to George Washington's decision to require
his soldiers to be vaccinated. Vaccinations and masks are part of
our patriotic heritage. They are not violations of our rights or our
freedom. Rather they are signs of patriotism.

We should all ask ourselves "How patriotic is my
behavior?" If you haven't done so already, get vaccinated and wear
your mask. Show your concern for others, for science and for our
			nation.
