Free Breast Cancer Screenings in
October at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital will provide free breast cancer
screenings for women who are uninsured or underinsured during
October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The screenings will be offered from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays
through Fridays in October and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on three
Saturdays – Oct. 2, Oct. 16 and Oct. 30 – at the hospital.
To schedule an appointment, call 217-605-5108. Appointments are
required; no walk-ins are available.
Educational materials, including information on general breast
health and how to perform breast self-exams, will be available.
Funding is provided by the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital
Foundation.

The National Cancer Institute recommends that all women age 40 or older have
screening mammograms every one to two years. Breast cancer is the second leading
cause of cancer death among women in the United States.
Free mammograms will be offered at all five Memorial Health System hospitals in
Decatur, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Springfield and Taylorville throughout October.
