Lincoln College Set to Honor General Byron S. Bagby
Presentation of Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters Open to the Public

 

[September 23, 2021]   Byron S. Bagby, Managing Partner of BMB Solutions, LLC and retired Army Major General, will be honored with a Doctorate of Humane Letters at Lincoln College on Friday, September 24. In addition to receiving an honorary doctorate degree, he will address students and trustees and provide valuable insights of his esteemed career and life-long experiences.

General Bagby served as Commandant of Joint Forces Staff College, Chief Operating Officer of the Office of Military Cooperation in Cairo, Egypt, managing security cooperation programs, and Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Army in Europe, directing all the activities of over 1,000 people in 30 locations and nine countries. Bagby also held duties at the Pentagon on the Joint Staff and Department of the Army Staff.

General Bagby’s honors include two Army Distinguished Service medals, the Ranger Tab, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Westminster College Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award, and Fulton Public Schools Hall of Fame inductee. He is also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Bagby is a certified True Growth Leadership facilitator and Authentic Leadership Development Coach through the Chambers Bay Institute, coaching more than 400 executives.

He is currently serving on the Advisory Board for Ryan Consulting as Chair, the Board of Directors of Management Support Technology, Inc., and the Board of Trustees for William Woods College and Columbia Southern University. Bagby previously served as a Board of Trustee member at Westminster College (MO) from 2012-2017.

General Bagby will be presented the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters on September 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Johnston Center for Performing Arts on the Lincoln College campus. Due to new state health mandates, attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within the prior three days. All guests will be required to wear face coverings in all campus facilities, regardless of vaccination status.
