Senator Sally Turner & Representative Tim Butler team up with Logan County Department of Public Health to host vaccination clinic

[September 19, 2021]   Hospitals are quickly seeing bed use nearing capacity, especially downstate, as the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to cause a rapid increase in the number of infections. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the vast majority of COVID-19 related hospitalizations and deaths are occurring among people who have not been vaccinated.

On August 26, 2021, the Governor announced that due to the increase in number of COVID-19 cases, vaccination will be required for employees in high-risk settings which include health care and nursing home workers, higher education college/university staff and students, and all pre-k-12 teachers and staff. Workers and students for which this mandate applies need to begin their first dose by no later than September 5, 2021. Individuals who opt out of the vaccine will be required to test for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. In addition, the Governor also announced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents whether vaccinated or unvaccinated effective Monday, August 30, 2021.

In support of the efforts to increase community protection and lower the rates of infection, the Logan County Department of Public Health (LCDPH), 109 3rd Street, Lincoln, along with State Senator Sally Turner and State Representative Tim Butler, are hosting a vaccination clinic on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the health department. The Pfizer vaccine will be offered, and anyone is welcome to attend.

Students ages 12-18 who become fully vaccinated will be eligible to win an Amazon gift card!

Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. To register, please visit WWW.LCDPH.ORG. The vaccine is free, but attendees are asked to bring their insurance card. Regardless, nobody will be turned away!
