Obituary
Bruce Treakle, 64, of Atlanta passed
away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s
Hospital in Springfield.
Bruce was born on April 11, 1957 in Kalamazoo,
Michigan, the son of William Treakle and Joyce
Dugan. Bruce married Karen “Sue” Fosdick on October
14, 1992 in Lincoln.
Bruce is survived by his wife; his mother; Joyce
(George) Sanders; his children, Jennifer (Steve)
Swinford, Nate (Toni) Fosdick, Steve (Melanie)
Johnson, Amanda (John) Snow and Bruce Treakle Jr.;
siblings, Rhonda (Glenn) Gillum, Bill (Samantha)
Treakle, and Terry Treakle; ten grandchildren,
Dylan, Brooklyn, Peyton, Cole, Camden, Logan,
Ashton, Brady, Christopher, and Moira. Bruce is
survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends that
he loved.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father who raised
him, Abe Vannoy; and one infant sister.
Bruce proudly served his county in United States
Army. He was a very talented musician who enjoyed
playing the drums at many local church’s worship
services. |
Bruce will be remembered as a Godly
man that loved the Lord and his family. He had an
infectious smile that lit up a room. His smile will
always be remembered and will be dearly missed.
A private family graveside service
will be held where full
military honors will be accorded by the Lincoln
American Legion Post #263.
Memorial donations may be made in Bruce’s name to
donor’s charity of choice.
Services have been entrusted to
