Obituary
John (Jack) Franklin Gossett, 93 died
in Grandview Hospital in Surprise, Arizona on March
18th, 2022.
He was born in Lincoln, Illinois on
January 15, 1929. He is the son of Herman and Edna
Gossett, longtime Lincoln residents and owners of
Gossett Cleaners & Furriers.
Jack went to school his 12 years in
Lincoln, then Spartan School of Aeronautics,
enlisted in the United States Air Force where he
spent 4 years as a flight engineer/crew chief on B
25s. While in high school he was fortunate enough to
help restore a Fairchild PT 19 and flew it 90 hours.
In 1951 he married Paula Moore of Mt.
Pulaski and they had two daughters. Paula died after
a long battle with cancer.
In 1959 Jack went to work for the
Federal Aviation Administration in Miami, FL and
Longmont, Co. and retired after 26 years. In 1979 he
married Janys Hollis in Longmont, Colorado.
Survivors include: Bill Gossett,
brother; Jean Gossett, sister-in-law of Lincoln;
Janys Gossett, Surprise, AZ and daughters Laura
Trimarco Parker, CO, Frieda Clayton and son-in-law
Rob of Pasadena, CA. Grandsons Jon Trimarco,
Tanzania, Africa and Tad Trimarco, Ft. Collins, CO.
Step sons: Randy Hollis and wife, Valerie of Erie,
CO and Rod Hollis, Sun City, AZ. Step grandchildren:
Danielle Van Gundy and husband, Dustin; Nathan
Hollis; Kelsey Hollis; ViAnna Hollis; Rebecca Hollis
and great grandson, Dempsey Van Gundy.
He was preceded in death by his
mother, father and sister, Gwen.
Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Cave
Creek, Arizona.
