Mahomet-Seymour sweeps Railsplitters in doubleheader

The
Railsplitters lost a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon to
Mahomet-Seymour. The Bulldogs won game one 7-1 and they won game two
12-2.
Game One
After falling behind 2-0 to the Bulldogs, the Railsplitters scored their
only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning.
The Bulldogs added to their lead in each of the remaining innings.
With only three hits in the game and trailing 7-1, the Railsplitters
were retired 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh inning.
Alex Hoffert, Jaden Klopp and Colbie Glenn had the only hits for
Lincoln.
The Railsplitters struck out 14 times against Bulldogs pitching.
Wyatt Mammen (1-3) started the game for Lincoln. He suffered the loss,
throwing four innings and allowing three runs on three hits. Mammen
struck out eight Bulldogs.
Aidan Nemeth pitched the fifth inning and gave up three runs.
Jake Baker pitched the sixth inning and allowed one run.
Game Two
Lincoln was off to a good start in game two, scoring in the top of the
first inning thanks to a two-run home run by Trent Koehler. Daulton
Miller started the game with a leadoff double for the Railsplitters and
he scored on Koehler’s home run to center.
The Bulldogs crossed home plate four times in the bottom of the first
inning off Lincoln starter Andrew Graue to take a 4-2 lead.

The Bulldogs added another run in the bottom of the second inning.
The Bulldogs had a five-run fourth inning that really dampened
Lincoln’s chances.
With two more runs added in the fifth inning, Mahomet-Seymour ends
the game early with a 12-2 victory.
Blake Wolters was 4-for-4 for Mahomet-Seymour. He crushed four
doubles in the game and drove in four runs and scored three times
for the Bulldogs.
Lincoln had six hits in game two versus Bulldogs pitching.
Daulton Miller was 3-for-3 for Lincoln with a run scored.
Sean Raffa and Trey Schilling had singles for the Railsplitters.
Trent Koehler’s home run was the big hit for Lincoln.
Andrew Graue was the starting pitcher for Lincoln. Graue tossed two
innings, allowing five runs on four hits. He struck out one batter.

struck out two batters.
Jaden Klopp pitched the final two-thirds innings. He allowed two
runs on three hits and struck out one batter.
The Railsplitters record falls to 2-5 on the season.
Lincoln will play at Limestone Community High School Friday
afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
