[April 12, 2022]  The Lincoln Railsplitters returned to action on Monday afternoon at Mike Curry Field and with Trent Koehler going the distance on the mound, the home team won 1-0 over the Bloomington Purple Raiders.

Koehler (2-0) only allowed one hit and struck out 11 batters. He allowed two walks in seven innings of work and earned the win for Lincoln.

A first inning single by the Purple Raiders was their only hit of the game.

Koehler was lights out on the mound up until the final pitch, a strikeout to end the game.

The only run of the game was scored in the bottom of the first inning by Lincoln.

Daulton Miller, Trent Koehler and Trey Schilling all walked in the first inning to load the bases. Alex Hoffert hit a fielder’s choice to the second baseman and Miller scored the Railsplitters lone run.

Lincoln would have two hits in the game, both by Colbie Glenn.

Two Bloomington pitchers would combine to strike out 13 Railsplitters.

Lincoln’s record improves to 3-5.

Lincoln will host Charleston today in a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Mike Curry Field.
