[April 13, 2022]    My name is Sarah and I have been a 911 Telecommunicator with Logan County for almost 3 years. When calling 911, whether it's for a medical, fire, or law enforcement emergency there will be a series of questions we need to ask you.

Yelling and screaming at the telecommunicator or telling us to "just get them here" is not helpful.

As a Telecommunicator, it is our job to gather as much information as possible to better assist you and our emergency responders.

Staying as calm as you can and answering our questions to the best of your ability is crucial so we can get the appropriate responding units to you as quickly as possible. Calling 911 can be stressful, seconds feels like minutes, minutes feels like hours, just know our questions do not delay the response time. A lot goes on behind the scenes that you may not be aware of.

While gathering information, the telecommunicator you are speaking with and/or their partner, has already got units enroute to you and are continuously updating them as needed.
