[April 13, 2022]  The National Ag Statistics Office has released the county crop yields for the 2021 growing season. The State average corn yield was 202 bushels per acre. The 2020 average for the State was 191 bushels. Logan County had an average yield of 209.5 bushels per acre, which compared to the 2020 yield of 209.6.

Top yielding counties for 2021 were Champaign with 222.4, Moultrie 221.8, Macon 221.1, Woodford 220.2, and Coles with 220. The top producing county in bushels was McLean County with 64,380,000. Logan County produced 34,588,000 bushels from 165,100 acres harvested. The high year for Logan County was 2018 with 236.2.

The State average soybean yield was 64 bushels per acre. Logan County did not have enough producers reporting to have an individual county average yield published, therefore, it falls in the “other counties” group with an average of 64.5. The top year was 2018 at 70.1.

The top producing soybean counties were Piatt with 76.1, Champaign 74.2, Macon 73.3, Moultrie 71.2, and Sangamon at 70.9 bushels per acre. The top producing county was once again McLean County with 20,182,000 bushels.

Below are yields from the last 10 years. If you are keeping “score,” some of the yields are different than reported in past years. Yield values are preliminary when released and may be corrected.
