			 On Thursday evening, the three
partnered to host a coffee and conversation event at the Guest House
in Lincoln. Quite a few people came out between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to
speak with the candidates about areas of personal concern, show
support or just get to know the three a little better.

A volunteer for Darren Bailey for Governor was on hand visiting with
the local incumbents and inviting people to attend one of several
personal appearances by the candidate taking place today (Saturday,
April 9th) in Lincoln. Bailey will be at the Lincoln Banquet Center
from 11:320 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. He will address the audience at noon.
He plans to then make stops in town including Tactical Bunker at 2

Candidate for the Illinois 87th District Representative Mary Burress
was another candidate on hand seeking election in 2022. With the
re-mapping of the state districts, Tim Butler will be reassigned to
other counties beginning in 2023. Burress and two other candidates
will be running in the newly mapped out 87th.

Burress said that she knows and
respects Butler and doesn’t feel that she can ever truly replace him
in the 87th, but she plans to do her level best, if elected, to
represent the people of her district.
This will be a big election year in Logan County. In addition to
casting votes for a number of state level positions, and the Logan
County offices represented on Thursday night, it is reported there
will be several openings on the Logan County Board this year.
Candidates for those seats have not yet been publicly announced.

The 2022 Primary Election will be held on June 28th. The General
Election will be held on November 8, 2022.
