With the ball flying every direction, the Raiders held a 5-2
lead after three innings.
Mount Pulaski scored two runs in the fourth inning and a run in
the fifth inning to tie the game.
The Raiders came back to score five runs in the top of the sixth
inning and three more runs in the top of the seventh inning to
take a 13-5 lead.
The Hilltoppers plated one run in the bottom of the seventh
inning on an RBI single by Jackson Fricke and fell by a final
score of 13-6.
The other big hits of the game for the Hilltoppers were an RBI
double by Landon Smith in the first inning, an RBI triple by
Lucas Kuhlman in the fourth inning and a game-tying RBI single
by Clay Aylesworth in the fifth inning.
Evan Cooper took the loss for Mount Pulaski. Cooper threw five
and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 hits and 10 runs. Cooper
struck out 9 batters.
Landon Smith pitched an inning in relief, allowing three runs.
Gavin Smith pitched the final one-third inning for Mount
Pulaski.
The Hilltoppers fall to 8-3 on the season.
Mount Pulaski will play at Lexington on Saturday morning at 10
a.m.
