an RBI single by Landon Smith.
Lexington plated five runs in the bottom of the first inning to
take the 5-1 lead.

The Hilltoppers tied the game in the fifth inning. Gavin Smith’s
two-run single to center was the big hit of the inning. Senior

Hilltoppers.
Jackson Fricke gave the Hilltoppers a 7-5 lead in the top of the
sixth inning with his two-run single to center.
The Hilltoppers added one more run for good measure in the top
of the seventh inning. Kuhlman and Kolin Gibbs led off the
inning with singles. Gibbs would advance around the bases on a
fielder’s choice and a steal of third. He would come racing home
with a key insurance run on a catcher’s error.
The Hilltoppers defense helped Landon Smith preserve the save
with a game-ending double play in the bottom of the seventh
inning.
The Hilltoppers leave Lexington with the 8-5 win on a very cold
and breezy afternoon.
