Four Lincoln Community High School seniors selected as Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Awardees

 

[April 26, 2022]   Four Lincoln Community High School seniors have been selected as scholarship recipients of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust. They are Drake Rutledge, Tori Schilling, Ryen Stoltzenburg and Sophia Yeazle.

Mr. Arthur Larson established a scholarship trust in 1994 as a permanent memorial for his wife, Lucille Flick Larson. Mrs. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, and she attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’ College, and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring haven for her students. Heartland Bank and Trust Company is the trustee of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust.

Awardees receive at least $1,250 per semester for up to eight semesters of their undergraduate career if they maintain a “B” average. Only graduating seniors of Lincoln Community High School are eligible for selection.

Drake Rutledge is the son of Gabe and Lori Rutledge. He will attend Greenville University this fall with a goal of becoming a math instructor at the high school level.

Tori Schilling is the daughter of Tony and Tami Schilling. Tori will also focus her studies on Secondary Education as she attends Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Ryen Stoltzenburg is the daughter of Matthew and Jamie Stoltzenburg. She is also planning to attend Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and will study Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics and Spanish.

Sophia Yeazle is the daughter of Jeff Yeazle and Ginger Chaudoin. Sophia will attend Illinois State University to study special education with a specialization in deaf student instruction.
