							Obituary  
							 
							Please join us for a Celebration of 
							Life in Loving Memory of Carol Jeanne Schleder, who 
							passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Carol was a 
							member of the First United Methodist Church in 
							Lincoln, Illinois. We will gather at this location 
							on Saturday, April 16th from 12 pm-2 pm, in her 
							honor; friends and family are invited.
 Carol was born on April 7, 1943 to Clarence and Mary 
							Maxey. She graduated from Lincoln Community High 
							School, the Class of 1961. She served as a class 
							officer and was active in the music department. 
							Carol married James Schleder on September 6, 1964, 
							and they had two sons, Rodney and Brett Schleder. 
							Carol’s daughter-in-law(s) Melissa (Rodney) and 
							Lauren (Brett) Schleder, blessed her with several 
							grandchildren, who always delighted her. She will be 
							missed by: Zachary, Kathryn, Lincoln, and Jameson.
 
 Upon death, Carol, 78 was reunited with her sister 
							Sheron (Maxey) Ramlow, and brother’s Gary and Rob 
							Maxey.
 
 Carol was also blessed to have a wonderful family, 
							who loved her very much, and will be dearly missed 
							by many, including her sister-n-law(s) Linda (Gary), 
							and Cyndi (Rob) Maxey; and by her nieces and nephew, 
							Alexa, Phelan, and Ryan.
 
 Many remember Carol through her employment at 
							Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital (40 yrs), Davis 
							and Associates, Hazel Albert Real Estate, The 
							Tropics and Stahl Furniture Company.
 
 Carol’s friends and family will recall her sweet 
							spirit, love of dancing, interior decorating, flower 
							gardening, and entertaining at the holidays - which 
							usually included a tin of her famous divinity.
 
 The family would like to thank the staff of 
							Timberlake Estates for their kindness and care of 
							Carol throughout her battle with leukemia. Those 
							close to Carol are also deeply touched by the many 
							acts of kindness that supported her through 
							difficult days. Thank you for your letters, visits, 
							special gifts, phone calls, and travel. Thank you 
							for all that you contributed, in love and support of 
							Carol.

							In burial, cremation was provided by 
							Lincoln Land Cremation Society. A private family 
							service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, with 
							a reading written and presented by her loved ones, 
							Marilyn and Phelan.
