[April 24, 2022]
The seventh annual Miles of Possibility Route
66 Conference will be Thursday – Sunday, October 20 – 23, in
Pontiac, Illinois! This year's theme, “America's Main Street
Welcomes the World,” emphasizes the importance of small-town America
to those seeking the authentic Route 66 experience.

The conference is dedicated to the
memory of David Clark, Windy City Road Warrior, who died in January.
A special session will highlight memories and accomplishments from
his long association with Route 66, including the major
contributions he made to the Route 66 Miles of Possibility
Conference.
The conference kicks off on Thursday with a special afternoon tour
and an evening hot dog roast at Pontiac's most famous mural.
Stephanie Stuckey, CEO of Stuckey's Corporation, will present the
keynote speech on Friday morning, October
21. Route 66 and Americana enthusiasts won't want to miss the
inspiring story of Stuckey's rise and fall – and rise again – told
as only the granddaughter of Stuckey's founder could tell it.
Following the keynote speech, Friday and Saturday feature daytime
conference sessions. On Friday evening a movie with Pontiac
connections will be shown.

At Saturday's closing ceremony, MOP will announce the host cities for every
Miles of Possibility conference from 2023 through 2026, the Centennial Year of
Route 66! On Saturday evening, a band will make sure that you “get your kicks.”
The Miles of Possibility Route 66 Conference will wrap up on
Sunday morning with a “Preservation Showcase” tour led by Illinois Route 66
preservationist and advocate John Weiss.
