							Ben Grunder, 88, of Lincoln passed 
							away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 surrounded by his 
							family at Timber Creek Village in Lincoln.
 A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 
							2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 
							with Rev. Joseph Dondanville officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 
							a.m. at the church prior to the service.
 
 Cremation rites have been accorded.
 
 Frederick Benjamin Grunder was born on February 25, 
							1934 in Davis, Illinois on the family farm the son 
							of Otto and Edith (Toelke) Grunder. He was united in 
							marriage to Carol Bansau on July 29, 1961. She 
							survives.
 
 Also surviving are his children: Julie Behm, Eric 
							(Kimberly Sterling) Grunder. Jill (Andrew) Upshaw, 
							Four grandchildren: Marissa (Adam) Kinigson, Sarah 
							(Andrew) Fitzgerald, Benjamin Grunder and Adam 
							Grunder. Two great grandchildren: Elena Kinigson and 
							Liam Fitzgerald. Four sisters: Edith Rosenstiel, 
							Clara Gill, Helen (Richard) Schneeberger, Dorothy 
							Kreger, One brother: Charles (Deborah) Grunder.

							He was preceded in death by his 
							sisters: Julia, Marie, Bertha, Judith, brother: 
							Otto. Son-in-law Walt Behm .
 Ben graduated from the Dakota High School in 1952 
							and Illinois State University in 1960.He retired 
							from Lincoln Community High School after 29 years of 
							teaching. He later retired as a Crop Adjuster.
 
 He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church 3rd 
							and 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus 
							Council # 1250. He also taught RCIA Classes at Holy 
							Family Catholic Church.
