Christian Horizons’ Pathway Memory Support® program takes a creative
approach to care, one focused on personalized enrichment and
			involvement from family and friends.

“We’re proud of their hard work in completing the PathwayPro program
requirements,” said Jennifer Knecht, Christian Horizons chief sales
and marketing officer. “Memory loss is a growing concern for older
adults. As a Dementia Friendly™ organization, we’re committed to
fighting the stigma surrounding dementia, offering community
education, and providing services focused on dignity, engagement and
quality of life. All Christian Horizons associates receive training
on dementia and are considered ambassadors for our organization.”

Christian Horizons’ Pathway Memory Support® program was developed in
partnership with David Troxel, MPH, co-creator of the life-affirming
and acclaimed Best Friends™ Approach to Dementia Care. The program
responds to the experience of dementia by embracing contemporary
best-practices along with enhanced associate training, creative
approaches to care, and a focus on activity and engagement.

 A person living with
Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia faces a progressive decline in
memory and cognition that can lead to moments of sadness,
frustration, and worry. This path can be a lonely one, but at
Christian Horizons communities the path is taken with friends and
			family. The PathwayPro achievement training
program consists of six hours of online learning followed by another
six hours of activity-based learning. Subjects include communication
and dementia care, dignity, self-determination and redirection, life
story review, engagement, spirituality and more.
