Service:  Friday, July 29, 2022, at 10:00AM the Lincoln Christian Church

Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Jones, 94, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at The Christian Village.

Larry was born on April 7, 1928, in Lincoln, to James and Margaret (Beaver) Jones. He married Eloise M. Birk on August 17, 1947, in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2002.

He is survived by his daughters, Sonjo (Gary) McAfee and Marla (Greg) Shanle, both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jeff McAfee of Lincoln, Jay (Heather) McAfee of Emden, Carrie (Mike) Nevius of Hopedale and Kevin Shanle of Lincoln; and great-grandsons, Nathan, Drew and Cooper McAfee.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, Edgar, Melvin, Seymour, and Arthur; one sister, Pauline and one grandson, Doug McAfee.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held at Lincoln Christian Church on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 10:00AM. Visitation will take place Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial will follow the service at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian Church Jolly Seniors or Christian Homes Congregate Building.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Christian Homes for their work and care of Larry while he was there.
