[August 06, 2022]  LINCOLN - Arthur E. “Andy” Anderson III, 68, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln

Fire Department walk-thru at 6:30 p.m.

Service: Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the church

Obituary

Arthur E. “Andy” Anderson III, 68, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services for Andy will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Adam Quine officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the service.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the church. There will be a Fire Department walk thru at 6:30 p.m.

Arthur Edward Anderson III was born on March 6, 1954, in Harrisburg, Illinois the son of Arthur Edward II and Mildred Ruth Brantley Anderson. Andy was united in marriage to Melody DePuy on October 6, 1972. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons: Keith Anderson and Ian Anderson; two grandchildren: Hannah (Wyatt) Reeser and Trystan Anderson; one brother: Tom (Mary) Anderson; two nephews: Robert (Jaime) Anderson and Ryan (Lindsey) Anderson; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Funeral Director

Andy graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1972. He retired from Caterpillar Inc after 30 years of service. He then worked in the maintenance department at Timber Creek and Copper Creek Village in Lincoln. In 2009, he became a member of the Lincoln Rural Fire Department as a Fireman and Emergency Medical Technician, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. Andy was a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210 A.F. & A.M., Ansar Shrine, and Logan County Shrine. He had also served on the Logan County Board. He and Melody raised Chinese Shar-Pei dogs and have shown them throughout the United States. Andy is a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Lincoln Rural Fire Department.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home.
