Lincoln Elementary School Disrtict #27 received a $350,000

moderate income families in the Lincoln area. School District #27
selected the Lincoln YMCA as their partner for this program.

The district and the Lincoln YMCA have a
long-standing relationship in the community as the YMCA has provided
before and after care in district schools for over 20 years. This
grant will allow for these programs to expand opportunities for
children who are currently enrolled, as well as children who could
benefit from additional academic assistance and social interactions.
The grant allows for STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering & Mathematics) activities, individualized tutoring &
homework help assisted by certified teachers, educational field
trips and many other themed programs. The grant will also allow the
district to purchase needed technology such as chromebooks and
robotics to be used in the enrichment program.
Kent Froebe, Superintendent of District #27 says, “We are thrilled
to have received this grant. School closures and remote learning
during the past two years has led to real learning loss which is a
concern and focus of the district. This collaboration with the YMCA
will create an outstanding opportunity for not only our students,
but the families of our community. Our students will benefit from
being exposed to additional educational experiences outside the
classroom.”

#27 has selected us to partner with in this endeavor. We have always been
committed to providing high-quality care for the communities we serve. This
grant will help provide additional learning experiences for kids who may not
have the opportunity during a normal school day.”
Parents who are interested in enrolling their child(ren) into this program are
encouraged to complete an application along with the Household and Income form
which will be emailed to all district parents. These forms may be dropped off or
