[August 23, 2022]  The Lady Railers kicked off the 2022 volleyball season by defeating the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones 25-18 and 25-12 on Monday night in Springfield.

Lincoln was led by Kloe Froebe with 11 kills as the Lady Railers came out swinging in this non-conference matchup.

Peyton Sasse added six kills and Lily Holmes contributed four kills in the win for Lincoln.

Addy Qualters led Lincoln with 20 assists and she also finished with two kills.

Becca Heitzig led the team with 9 digs.

Emma Derry, who is in her second year as the Lady Railers head volleyball coach, was pleased with the girls’ effort that resulted in a solid win over the Cyclones.

“I am very proud of the girls,” said Derry, after picking up the first win on the road. “Although we had less fans, our fans and athletes matched their energy. Kloe Froebe and Lily Holmes came out ready to play today whether it was from the front row or back row. We’ve been working hard in practice, working with a new setter (Addy Qualters) this year that played outside last year. She has really stepped up into that role and is taking control of our offense. I thought we played really well as a team and just meshed well together. I am excited to see the girls grow and how the rest of the season goes.”
